November Software Updates

Corel AfterShot Pro 2 has been added to the Apple Macintosh App Store (US$79.99). Not one of my recommended products since the acquisition (used to be Bibble Pro), the program still lags on supporting recent cameras (no D750 or D810 support, for example).

Pixelmator version 3.3 (Macintosh App Store) adds Yosemite, Handoff, iCloud Drive, and 5K Retina iMac support. The UI has been flattened a bit (though not as much as Yosemite itself), and Repair Tool Action Extensions allow Pixelmator editing within apps like Mail.

Lightroom 5.7 (Windows, Macintosh) has been released, with support for the D750 and tethered shooting support for the D4s and D810. Banding issues with some of the D810 camera profiles have been fixed. Other significant camera support include Apple iPhone 6/6+, Canon 7DMkII and G7 X, Fujifilm X30 and X100T, Panasonic GM5 and LX100, Samsung NX1, and Sony A5100. Eight additional F-mount lenses now have lens profiles in Lightroom. Quite a few bugs were squashed, as well. Adobe Converter Raw and DNG Converter 8.7 also were updated and include the same additional camera support.

Apple Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.01 adds support for the Nikon D750, as well as other recent cameras such as the Canon 7DII, Fujifilm X30, and Panasonic LX100.
