This book only supports the Nikon J1 and V1 cameras, not other Nikon 1 cameras.
- If you have mobile devices, I strongly suggest that you download first to a computer and use your usual method (typically a drag-and-drop operation of some type) to load the PDF file onto the device. The number one support problem I've had so far has been interrupted downloads directly to the mobile device, which is usually out of my control (e.g. a carrier issue) but will eat one of your download attempts.
- While the files can be put onto smart phones, I personally believe that they are not the device you want to read the book on: their screens are too small for elaborately formatted PDF.
- iOS7 introduced a bug in Apple’s PDF support that can cause the book to crash (now fixed in iOS8.1 and later). Try using the free iOS version of Adobe Acrobat Reader instead: it recognizes and deals with a standard PDF just fine ;~).

What devices do you support?
I support Acrobat Reader on Macintosh OS-X and Windows, plus the Kindle Fire, Kindle Keyboard, Nook Color, and the iPad using the Adobe Acrobat Reader. It's impossible for a one-man operation to support every possible eReading variation in the world. The target device size is an 5.5" x 8.5" page. With the desktop systems you can generally scale the PDF to any size you need. With the phones, tablets, and eReaders you generally can't, which is one reason why I target the size at smaller than a standard page: I've picked something that should be very readable on most 7" and 10" screens.
Will the PDF work on my Android Tablet (or other device not specified on my supported list)?
Probably. But there are so many devices with so many different permutations of PDF readers now, I can't test on them all. I use standard Acrobat Reader 6.x+ settings in creating the PDF, basically the lowest common denominator standard for PDF that's been around for almost a decade. The most likely problem I've found with eReaders is memory management: some have very poor PDF memory management, which results in poor page turn performance at a minimum. The Nook Color has slow page turn performance (the Nook Tablet seems to have fixed this). If you experience problems, you should ask your tablet provider why they don't support a plain vanilla, long-established standard PDF file.
Can I use the book on more than one device I own?
Yes. I have no problems with you putting a copy on both your computer and Kindle/iPad. I understand that there may be times that you want to read it on one device or another. I also understand that you might want Time Machine or other backup software to archive a copy for you just in case something happens to your system. Please, however, don't share the book file with others: that would be a violation of Copyright and absolutely affect your karma at a minimum.
Is the book cross-referenced?
Absolutely, and extensively. All Web site references are hot-linked. All page numbers are hot-linked (e.g. table of contents, "see page xx", index, etc.).
