Which VR Nikkors detect when they're on a tripod?

According to Nikon:

  • 55-300mm 4.5-5.6G DX
  • 70-200mm f/4G
  • 70-200mm f/2.8E FL
  • 200-400mm f/4 VRII
  • 200-500mm f/5.6E VR
  • 300mm f/4E
  • 400mm f/2.8G and f/2.8E VR
  • 500mm f/4G and f/4E VR
  • 600mm f/4G and f/4E VRII
  • 800mm f/5.6E VR

All other lenses should have their VR turned Off while on tripods. Note that II on the lens name doesn't mean VR II, it means second edition of the lens. You have to look in the manual that came with the lens to find out if it has VR II or not.
