Free US Sand Removal in UK

Following the service advisory on the possible (future) problem with the 1 series 10-30mm lens I decided to send mine back to Nikon UK (especially since the rotation had been a little 'gritty' since my wife dropped it face-down in the sand at Monument Valley). I emailed a request via the advisory on their site. They emailed back a pre-paid address label. I posted the lens back to them on Monday, and it was delivered back to me this morning (Friday), checked & cleaned. No charge, even for removing the sand! I am registered as a Nikon Professional User (thanks D800!) - but they had no way of knowing that from the return form, so I doubt I was given special treatment. Isn't this how it should be? (am)
