Thom's Mini Review: Sadly, Sigma messed up the redesign of the 50-150mm. The original lens was smaller and lighter, and pretty much exactly the "scaled DX" version of a 70-200mm, as you'd expect. This newer version, which adds optical stabilization, has grown in size and bulk to the point where there's really little advantage in buying it over some of the 70-200mm options. The original version was optically pretty good; a little weak wide open and in the corners at the telephoto end. This new version improves on the optical end, especially wide open at 150mm, but again, it's now competing against the very good 70-200mm options and thus not a clear-cut winner.
