Thom's Mini Review: A substantial lens that's a little long for FX but makes a very good DX portrait lens (87mm equivalent). Well made and optically quite excellent in the center, even wide open. A bit sharper than the best Nikkor 50mm wide open, in fact. Really nice bokeh at f/2 to f/4 coupled with superb sharpness makes this a real winner. Personally, I find this a better choice than the Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 Planar, partly because it's a better value while still holding its own optically. Recommended
