Thom's Mini Review: Yes, it's a bit bigger and heavier than the non-VR version, but it's also just a better lens. Indeed, it's surprisingly good for its price, even on the 16mp DX bodies (it starts showing some of its weaknesses more easily on the 24mp bodies).
