A number of Nikon DSLRs received firmware updates in August:
- D4s — C1.10, adds support for Lens Correction 2.0, sport VR is now supported (400mm f/2.8E), memory cards larger than 128GB are formatted in exFAT, Movie Live View mode is now restored after using menus, CSM #F1 now supports playback zooming at the focus point used in the image, a number of bugs were fixed including many associated with image review
- D90 — B1.01, adds support for Lens Correction 2.0
- D600 — C1.02, adds support for Lens Correction 2.0
- D610 — C1.01, adds support for Lens Correction 2.0
- D7000 — A1.04 and B1.05, adds support for Lens Correction 2.0
- D7100 — C1.02, adds support for Lens Correction 2.0
Be sure that network connections set in the camera are off and that you have a full battery when updating. Also note that you must be updating from the most recent firmware update first (except for D4s) as the only thing changed is the lens correction tables.
You can also get the lens correction files at this site. Cameras that support the lens correction software are: Df, D4, D4s, D90, D600, D610, D800/D800E, D810, D3200, D3300, D5200, D5300, D7000, and D7100. If your camera isn’t in the list at the top of this story, make sure that your camera has the latest firmware then download the lens correction file from the site just listed. Correct updating should update the firmware to L2.005. And yes, I checked this last statement with Nikon. Indeed, they’ve now created a FAQ page that says essentially the same thing.
