I thought you might like to hear of a positive experience for a change. My D800 is just over two years old and was underexposing severely. I sent it to the L.A. facility and used my NPS membership to get it expedited. I did not even attach a receipt knowing it was a year out of warranty. It was returned in about a week with a new aperture lever and all the cleaning, checking and adjustments that are typical. I think it was a B2 category repair (I don't have the work order handy), but it was returned with no charges and no explanation why. I don’t know if this happens often, but I was totally and pleasantly surprised. Are they capable of an occasional goodwill gesture or could they be dealing with some guilt issues? (mp)
